Featured Composer: Giulio Aldinucci

Giulio Aldinucci was born in Siena (Italy) in 1981. He has been active for years as a composer in the field of experimental electroacoustic music and in the research on soundscape. He composed several albums: Goccia (Home Normal, UK/J, 2016), Agoraphonia with Francesco Giannico (Dronarivm, RUS, 2016), Spazio Sacro (Time Released Sound, USA), The Prelude To, with Pleq (The Long Story Record Company/1631 Recordings, AUS/S, 2015), Aer (Dronarivm, RUS, 2014) and Tarsia (Nomadic Kids Republic, UK/J, 2012). In addition to his contribution to collective works, he wrote music for theatre, video art, documentaries and short movies. He also composed four EPs, including Yellow Horse (Manyfeetunder-concrete, I, 2015). His music is included in various compilations, including Home Normal Elements, Sound at Work -- electronic music and labour created by Tempo Reale, the Italian Electronic Music Research, Production, and Educational Centre founded by Luciano Berio -- and The Wire Tapper, among others.

In June 2013, Giulio Aldinucci and Attilio Novellino launched the project Postcards from Italy which consists of an album published on CD by Oak Editions (I), a live event at Cafe OTO (London) and a special installation at SoundFjord Gallery (London) by AIPS collective & Gianmarco Del Re. He is the curator of the Soundscape Practice section of AIPS, Italian Archive Soundscapes.
